Rock n Roll Suicide - an ATX tribute to David Bowie
benefiting AIDS Services of Austin
Join us for a night celebrating all the things Bowie. From the prophetic story of Ziggy Stardust to the electronic crooning of the Thin White Duke.
The Super Creeps, an all-star band of Bowie aficionados led by Adam Sultan and John Nelson, will kick off evening with a full set of Bowie classics.
The grand finale is Rock and Roll Suicide, a brand new grouping of killer Austin musicians brought together for one sole purpose: the re-creation of Bowie’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars” album and the ensuing live touring presentation.
Released in 1972, “Ziggy” was an immediate hit and vaulted David Bowie to mega-stardom. Rolling Stone listed the album at #6 on their greatest albums list from the last 50 years and #35 on the Top 500 albums of all-time.
